There's a lot of great information everywhere on this forum ready for you to discover. The first thing you should do is search or browse the performance upgrades and major horsepower upgrades section. This information is readily available. Search around and then post questions in the relevant threads. Starting a new thread like this is not the best way to get the answers you want.

You will find far more than the information you're looking for as a beginner on this forum if you use the SEARCH function.

Like has already been said, you will get the best results by searching. I would recommend doing an advanced search of "Titles only", then plugging in a key word to search the titles for. And also like Shaun said the Aftermarket Performance Modifications section (https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-aftermarket-performance-modifications-23/) and the Major Horsepower Upgrades section (https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-major-horsepower-upgrades-93/) should give you a pretty good bit of stuff...

Just to get you started though, there are a handful of things that can get you a couple of extra hp here and there, but the only way to really get a large power boost is to go with forced induction or nitrous...

As for other performance aspects like handling and such, pretty much the same stuff as any other car... Springs, shocks, sway bars, etc... There is a lot of good info on this site. Use it.

Unless the car is brand new then you should ensure it is 100% up on maintenance before doing any upgrades. Repair what is needed and then move forward with mods. You will find some of these repairs/updates (e.g., brakes, tires, coils) will improve the performance of the car.

I am in a good mood so I will not flame you this time.

I suggest that you read the forums, there is a wealth of knowledge here.
MOST IMPORTANT! READ YOUR OWNERS MANUAL!

I recommend looking around on the internet for videos/diagrams on how the rotary works.
There are quite a few threads on here for new owners that you should read.

The first mod I think you should get are the Racing Beat Oil cooler and A/C condenser screens. It is a small investment that could save you alot of money in the long run.

I recommend that you add a proper oil pressure gauge (the one in the eight is a dummy), a good water temp gauge and and oil temp gauge.

I would invest in some oil to keep in the car at all times for top offs.

The BHR ignition kit would be another good investment as it pays for it's self in about 2 changes of the coils.
As for power mods unless you are willing to spend a lot of money and go FI you are only looking to get 200-210 to the wheels, assuming you have every bolt on, a good tune and an engine that has good compression.

Welcome to the forum and If you are going to make it around here,
use the search button!

Edit: Ok so I flamed you a little bit.
