Just had to jump start her... question!
I guess my kid left the light on in the back, and the battery died.
We just jump started her after about 15 mins of driving some stop and go, and other interstate. We went through a parking lot was going about 10mph in neutral and the car shut off. It restarted fine and we drove off, but it keeps bouncing back randomly when we stop from 500 - 1000 rpms. Once we got home after about 30 mins of driving it idled at 1000 sitting there for about 4mins. we shut the car off, and of course i came inside and hopped on the forum =-)
So far the only thing i can find on the forum is this procedure...
My only question is, Is this the only thing there is to do? I always thought just driving her would help her relearn how to idle... =/ then again this is my first manual trans car, and the first time the battery has died.
Thanks for any help.
There are two reset procedures, one for the NVRAM and the other for the KAM. Neither will erase your radio presets and such like the method SpooledUp7 posted:
1) With the key in the off position, press and hold the odometer reset button and turn the key to on;
Continue to hold the odo button until the odometer reads "TEST" and then release.
2) Turn the key to off and repeat step one.
This will reset the entire PCM except the KAM which contains the sensor profiles amongst other things. You can reset it with the familiar procedure:
1) Turn the key to on
2) Depress the brake pedal rapidly 20 times in a row until the oil pressure gauge sweeps to halfway and back again.

If the battery was drained enough to prevent the ECU memory from retaining fuel trim values and other volatile memory then what you are describing is normal. It may take a bit before the car settles in on its proper fuel trims, till then you may experience rough idles and possible idle stalling.

Np, and just an FYI this may slightly affect your gas mileage for the next fill up as the ecu relearns fuel trims, again completely normal but dont freak out if you notice a drop in fuel mileage at the pump next time around
