i didn't have the money to buy the REVi so i figured out something else to do. At first i bought a K&N drop in filter and later got the RB air duct. When i took out the stock air inlet i cut off about a 4-5in piece so that it would seal the gap between the stock air box and the RB air duct. it fit perfect and looks factory. The last time i cleaned the K&N pannel filter i took a look at the airbox. i unscrewed the supports for teh pannel filter. and then poped off the horn along with one of the screens which left a 3.5in piece of pipe. I went and picked up a cone airfilter with a 3.5in outlet and bolted it on inside the airbox. it fit perfect and i noticed a deeper sound and alittle better feel uptop. All in all i spent around 150 bucks and have a very decent intake, even if the REVi has 1 or 2 more hp its not worth the hundreds of dollors more. better yet the airfilter i got has a reverse cone in the front of the box and the sealed RB air duct shoots air right into it. deff a worth wile and cheap mod

IS the K&N going to pull harder in the higher RPM's then the REVI, what i have read is that the REVI adds better power all around when the K&N is just higher RPM's, if that was so wouldnt the K&N be a better add, because are powers all up top, and thats where yuor at when your racing.

Just a quick noob question on the subject. My stock intake tube is cracked. From what I gather from this forum and the manufacturers, the REVI uses the stock intake tube to route air from the air box. The K&N appears to completely replace the intake tube.
Has anyone experienced dealership warranty issues with the K&N installed?
I'm just thinking that it seems like a waste to spend close to the cost of the K&N to replace the stock tube with a new stock part.

K&N will affect ONLY the intake part of warranty. K&N will replace the whole intake box and tube.

They won't replace it under warranty because according to the dealer the previous owner's attempt to repair with tape and some sort of "glue" voided the warranty on that part. I'm going to try to removing the tape and see if I can remove the glue or the glued on peice and take it to a different mazda dealer to replace it under warranty.
