I decided to get the oil changed today. The dealership that i normally go to is closed on saturdays. I ended up going to lamb's automotive and they put kendall syntheic blend 5w-30. Is this the right oil for the car? Should i be worried about anything? Any input would be great.

 

It won't hurt anything and most of the fanboi's here will tell you to go full sytnthetic. But just tell them next time to use regular Dino oil (Castrol GTX, etc.). If you take it to the dealer they will put 5W20 and in our great state you really should run 10W30 since it does not get cold.

Personally, I wouldn't use synthetic oil. I'd rather use the real thing.

I have ran Mobil 1 every vehicle I have owned, I just think its pointless in the RX-8. This topic has been beat to death so make your own decisions regarding the issue. I will just say that my second motor has only seen Castrol GTX and it has outlasted my first motor by 40k.

 

I've only run full synthetic in this 2nd motor and it's outlasted my first by 10k so far.

 

Well hopefully you will be okay but 10k is nothing and you don't ride around in South Texas heat.
