Havoline 5W20. My last vehicle made it over 260k miles with the stuff before I traded it for the RX8.

what about winter time? i know that in winter, most people go for a 10W (at least here where it gets damned cold) because its a slightly thicker oil.

would you say the same for the 8 in winter?

Wow, I had no idea so many people use Castrol GTX haha. Good thing that is what I use, although a few buddies and I did a test with several motor oils and additives . . . rigged up an electric motor to spin a smooth cylinder of metal, attached a torque wrench with a another piece of metal shaped to ride on the spinning piece, lubbed them up and proceeded to put as much pressure as several guys could (hard to explain what it looked like and we were bored haha) to see which lubbed the best, Castrol came out on top of everything, additives and more, so since then I have only used Castrol GTX.
