I bought the intake piping used locally, he claimed it was AEM and it was already short ram. Besides, in utah low mount CAI's usually get a lot of water in them from rain/snow. Though, I plan on building a heat shield to keep the air a little cooler around the intake filter

changed my mind, it got worse and worse every time i drove. So i took out the short ram and modded the stock intake box. I removed the two walls, and both the screens, then gently cleaned the MAF. I read up on the stock intake mod and I didn't see anyone who had tried removing the two screens, so i just went for it. performance wise it's much much better than the short ram, and feels better TQ wise compared to stock.

another quick clip of how the modded box sounds, surpirsingly very similar to the short ram but not as annoying and better performing :D

Drop done! I love the ride of the S-Tech's, they are way good on cornering, and made it look more aggressive.
it was hard to capture the actual difference in ride height, but here's the pic's I've got so far...
All done
This is the how to thread I used, very helpful.

The car will not lower until you preload the front springs.
jack the bottom of the assembly the knuckle under the brake rotor to its highest position. loosen the bolts holding the upper control arm. Now lower the assembly. raise the assembly back up to its highest position. now tighten the bolts back up to 53 ft lbs of tq (I think thats correct, look int he FSM). when you lower the assembly the bushings should be twisted kind of.
But the tire on and give it a few days to settle.

Hey kinky kelsey, the first thing i decided i wanted to do to my RX-8 when i got it was to put a sub inbetween the back seats, i was thinking of building a custom box for it, but the one you have is EXACTLY what i want, can you point me in the direction of where you got it or did you build it?
