latest recall?
ok i got it, and i hate it. they changed my started new battery and my HF cat is no longer on... car feels slower, pick up isnt as responsive(when it is its not consistant) car blows on gas even more. not only does it guzzle gas like free air, but i need to hit on the gas harder for it to excellerate like it use to (when i barely hit the gas)
anyone else have similar results? also can we get old flashes back?

What did they do to your HFcat ? You know you should've asked them to give it back to you.
Car feels slower really? Havent heard of that one.

Use the search..there is a DIY section on this..very well laid out..MAF stands for Mass Air Flow..basically, you need to go out and get yourself some electric cleaner (can), then spray the crap out of it to clean it of any oil/dirt, etc. BTW, it is located above your air filter inbox....

definitely slower
Unfortunately I have to confirm, mine feels slower since the recall/flash as well. Definitely slower response at low rpm. I already posted a comment on this over a month ago but noone else had had the same experience yet. Actually I posted that only a week after I had gotten my 8 back from the recall, b/c I wanted make sure that it was not only a quick impression after having driven a Jeep loaner for two days but an 'every time I drive it' experience. Unfortunately it is. Now after a month, I can surely say that the first 2 seconds of acceleration from 0 is worse than it used to be. No question about it. Has nothing to do with gas. In the first couple of weeks I was hoping that it might be the new spark plugs but now I don't think it's any miracle but the new flash.

i agree with GOTIAN, my 8 felt faster and more responsive after i got it back, but maybe it was because i was driving the areo rental car they gave me for the past 2 days.

Just a Few bucks a big can, should be good enough to clean your MAF like 10 times.
Go into some hobby stores, and tell them
*Hey look, I have a HPI cars and all these dirty oil stuck on the chassic, is there a spray that I can get rid of these stuff? the ones that will not harm the radio reciever*
what I did was I spay a bit into the Cap so the liquid is there. and Dump the MAF into it and let it soak for a while. then I took the MAF back out, and spayyyyyyy the crap out of it. u'll see some brownish/blackish stuff coming out, after a while when u dont see those stuff anymore (clear/white), just let it sit for couple of minutes for it to dry, then u put it back on.

You are not alone. My 8 also feels slower, and I'm getting a measured 2mpg less. Before the recall I was getting 19.5 mpg with hard driving (pretty happy with that). After the flash I'm getting 17.5 with the same driving. I only had the plugs and flash done.
