That little beep...

There is a beep that sounds whenever I get into the slashed zone at 8500 rpm. It's irritating as hell and I'm coming to you fine folks for the answer. Please tell me there's a way to kill it.

lol, there are a lot of threads complaining that they either dont have a beep or its way to soft. first ive seen wanting it gone. i actually recommend both the above suggestions.

i hear it but it don't stop me til i feel the boog!jk sometimes.the clue here is to tune your own ear to the 9,000 range or a tad bit sooner to get in step with your range of power once done you won't mind hearing that beep every now and then.and like the others have said get a better tuned exhaust and intake and you won't hear it at all!

its helpful if you are new to a high reving engine, coming from piston i always wanted to shift at about 6k rpm. you don't really wanna watch the tach anyway, teach your ear your engine's sound.

^true that.

Hey, they were even louder in the RX-7s, so it could be worse.

i hardly hear mine, but thats because of the exhaust system and ex-thrill-err rating sensations of going so fast, but i would love the samuel l jackson voice, would be a laugh.

i decided to keep at the red line for 2-3 seconds for a longer clean tonite,

beeeeeeeeppppppp. wha, what did you say?

You know how to drive does not prevent morons out there from ruining their motor.

The beep is there as a warning. So people know that its *near redline*

For me, I think the Beep is WAY too soft, with windows down there is NO way that I can even hear it.

Oh yes, just open your windows

the beep is to warn you that, its nearing the limits of the transmission in that gear, not the engine, as i am sure there is more power in the engine if the transmission could handle it.

would be cool if mazda put a sexy voice message to tell you to change up, one that wouldn't get on your nerves, like these talking cars i've heard about.

but still its not as annoying as the seat belt reminder, they should have put a message at the end of the tone, put your f!?@%n seatbelt on when i tell you!!!

you dare not move your car out of the garage too quickley above 5mph or it starts and won't belt up til you belt up lol.

So low I've not heard it. I did shift at over 9000 (once, around 9300, no fuel cutoff), as this thing takes a little getting used to (redline comes up fast). Never heard the beep. Was in 3rd gear I think (approaching 90mph I think).
