location of the weight sensor in the passenger seat

I cannot find it. I see the harness for the seat rail position sensors, for the seat belt itself and for the seat's airbag, but I see NOTHING going to any kind of weight sensor?
How do the later models 06 and beyound know when a passenger is in the seat?
It is also not in the botton seat cushion--that I can tell.
My passenger side airbag light will not go out--says it is turned off all the time, whether someone is in the seat or not.
Help?

The airbag light is a common issue. It's usually a matter of making sure the harness connectors under the seat are tight. I get that once every few months and I just get under there and mess around with the connectors and it goes away next time I start the car.

Well--i found the dang things.
There are two mounted on the rails. They appear to be the seat rail position sensors but they are also weight sensors--they operate by a small magnetic disc inside that has predetermined settings ---off course.
If you ever remove your seat you have to take the car to the dealer for them to reset the zero settings of these sensors.
Dang new fangled good stuff.

Hello,

I have the same issue. I just got my RX-8 and the Passenger side airbag off light is on. Even if there is a passenger on it. Troubleshooting the issue I also noticed that the if a passenger is seated down without any seatbelt on there is no warning about it too. Any ideas on how to go around this issue please ?

Regards,
Etienne
