There was a service bulletin about a higher speed starter being available for the car. But, I suspect a new starter most likely won't solve your problem. Get a compression check. I suspect you have a engine problem. Unfortunately, the extended engine warranty runs out at 100K mi.

you think? I havent bought it yet.... the thing is it has no check engine lights run fine.. I drove it 8hrs one day with zero problems and shut it off and waited like 30min and it started fine.. anyone know what the compression is supposed to be on these engines and is it easy to do? I have a compression tester

I've had 3 engines replaced. This is how my first one died. I pulled into the gas station, filled the car up with gas and I couldn't restart it for 20 min. The car only had 13K miles on it at the time. At first the dealer couldn't reproduce the problem. Then the exhaust got louder and then the dealer replaced the engine.

All I'm saying is I had the same problem.
I could start fine when it was cold, but if I went to the gas station and tried to start it again, it would have a tough time starting.
But what do I know... I must be wrong...

I know how the guy got the car he bought it at a auction he is a small dealer and thought he would make some money on it but since it isnt starting when warm he is just trying to get out of it what he has into it. He doesnt know **** about rotary engines but they guy has been super upfront with me about the situation. how do you do the compression tests on these motors?

Sometimes I just walk away from the forum because I feel that nobody is really helping someone to troubleshoot and narrow down their issue more.
People tend to say, "buy this, this, this and this" in hopes that one of those items will help.
I, like many, don't have the funds to just buy random parts hoping it'll fix the problem.
Sorry for getting defensive and the unnecessary comments... back to the thread

yeah if you're thining about buying this thing I would tell the guy to pay for a compression test and look at the results before you buy...5800 is a good price IF the motor is good..if not then it's not a good deal enless ur looking to swap out a motor as soon as u get it!
