So only a week of owning my 8 I'm still learning about its idiosyncrasies. Every morning there was a big THUNK coming from the rear axle as I was either backing out of the driveway or pulling away. It was freaking me out. A simple search later revealed that this is the ABS self-test and is completely normal.

So happy to have the RX8Club as a resource.

Everybody appreciates your enthusiasm, but there was no need to start a thread on it rather than adding your comments to the existing thread. If you have used the search engine then you can easily see how pointless excess threads are like trying to navigate through a sea full of debris

 

Good point. Just wanted to shout it from the rooftops that my axle wasn't about to break after all. LOL And with that, I'll kindly ask one of the admin-type individuals to lock and burn this thread to eliminate the sea of debris. Hey that rhymes.
