Low-oil indicator while rev engine
I'm driving back from MSP16, and on the freeway I rev from 7 to 8.5 in neutral anywhere from 20 to 50 times in rapid succession. Back in gear, 500 ft later I have a flashing yellow oil indicator that stays for about one minute.
I checked the oil at full shortly after. Can someone help me understand how the engine runs out of oil, with a full oil complement?

Maybe it's because you're burning all your oil. Also, reving the engine to 7 to 8.5 RPM's in rapid sucession 20 to 50 times is really NOT good for the motor. Espically that many times.

Wait flashing yellow? The oil indicator to my knowledge is a red light. The only flashing yellow light would be your check engine light. Flashing usually indicates a misfire.
Reving the motor to the higher RPM band isn't going to cause any issues, if anything it's going to help blow the carbon out. Double check but I've never seen a yellow oil light. Please correct me if I'm totally mistaken on this.

Oh, I see. I assumed it was oil since it appeared underneath the oil temperature gauge section. After checking the manual I realize that any number of symbols may appear in that window.
