lower intake observations

ok---in looking at the lower intake(off the car) it seems that the vdi and the secondaries are not precise. The vdi--if not positioned VERY particularly--actually can be partially open on one side. I would think that is not a good thing especially for the fi guys.
also the secondaries does not have a smooth transition within the intake. One side was good, it was smooth etc, the other side had a lip big enough to stop a screwdriver as it is following the curve in the intake. that has to create some turbulence,
i also saw some edging that could be smoother. Maybe there is some lower intake work that could be done. ?

Yeah there is a little bit that can be improved. It's not perfect but it is night and day better than anything Mazda has ever put on a rotary before. You might get about a 5% or so flow improvement max if you correct everything. Just a guess though. It won't be much.

Thanks RG
Have to admit i am not expecting a large difference from these possible little tweaks---but little tweaks add up and at times can be a big part of a package.
It really is a well designed unit. The biggest thing i wish for is less heat soak through this intake--have some ideas there also.
