Main fuse box clicking and car won't start
so here's my newest problem with my 8..last night i left from work like normal. then maybe about 30 mins after i got home,i went to start it again and everything inside went dim and the car wouldnt start. i popped the hood and heard a clicking noise coming from my fuse box.the clicking only happeans when the key is on the start position. i followed the noise and vibrations to my blue circuit relay.when i took it out the clicking would stop.so i went to mazda to get a new but after i replaced it would still have the same problem.then i also removed the ignition relay and agian the clicking would stop.the only way to start the car is by jump starting it but after i turn it off it wont come back on.i think im going to buy the iginition and starter relays and see if this will slove my problem..any thoughts or advice would be very helpful guys.thanks

yep thats the problem, regardless of what else you may think it is.
replace the battery and its fixed.
the clicking is your ignition relay trying to gain enough voltage to open, not getting it, closing, trying again, not getting it.. but very quick

but it doesn't make any sense because ive never had problems with my battery..i was at work for 8 hours and the car started up just fine..and then i home for 30 mins and its dead? anyway if you guys think its my battery then i will have it checked out before i buy any more relays.

The starting when you boost it is the dead giveaway it is the battery...if it was a relay...boosting it wouldn't help
Check the connections on the battery..if they are corroded you may just have poor voltage transfer to the harness....and poor charging as well....

Check your battery and see if you have to add more distilled water to it. It may be low. On the top of the battery you can pop off 2 covers and see the water level. It should be just below the top of the battery. But how old is your battery?

I side with new battery need as well. Keep in mind that relay chattering (insufficient voltage to pull in the contacts) is a symptom and not the root cause.
Electrical systems often work fine right up to the point of threshold failure.

Robert - Why did you copy and paste the original poster 'verbatim'?...including his spelling mistakes, and even leaving the [/QUOTE] at the end?
