Major clutch+trans problems
Alright so here is what's happening. I got a new clutch and transmission on Dec 1st. No one told me anything about a break in period so when i got it I rode it pretty hard for that day. The next day when i was shifting the clutch stuck to the floor and it was out. When i brought it to mazda they said the clutch exploaded and they haven't seen anything like it. It was a Heavy Duty ACT racing clutch. So i waited 4 weeks to get my car back and this time i got a steel backing for it. They told me to wait 400 miles then i can drive it however i please. So i did. At 430 miles i hit it a few times, 0-75 about 4 times within an hour or so. When i was done i could smell the clutch, but its not a horrible smell thats smelling up my garageor anything, but i can definitely smell it was burned. Is my clutch okay? Am i just gonna have to drive it gently for a certain amount of time before i can launch it again? I really have no idea so if anyone can help me that would be great!! I just need to know if my clutch is fine from an hour of launching it and how long am i suppose to break in a new clutch and tranny?? Thanks guys.

Ya im pretty **** about it, i'll definitely drive it like a grandmother. My clutch smelled when i pulled my car in. If i just baby it for the next 1000 miles you think im good? Or is my clutch already screwed?

IMO I don't think it is screwed just take it easy for the time being and you will be fine.

My bet is he blew up the stock one too.
If you don't feel your clutch slipping as you drive around, you're probably ok...
Provided you stop launching the car and riding the clutch. If you blew up a racing clutch you're doing something wrong.
