Mazda RX8 won's start

My mazda rx8 wont start and I already tried deflooding it but nothing. Mechanics basically know nothing about the car. If someone has an idea of what might be wrong please advise me. If you are part of the club and live anywhere in Los Angeles County, let me know I'm willing to pay for expenses if you'd take a look at the car. Thank you!

There are alot of different ways of having a "no start" and most of them have different symptoms, different points the "starting" process stops at.

The process is:
1: Key in
2: Clutch in
3: clutch sensor closes the circuit allowing start
4: Key to start
5: Starting relay opens, providing power to the starter from the battery
6: Battery power cranks over the starter motor
7: Starter motor spins the engine through the flywheel
8: Ignition opens
9: Coils get power, begin generating spark current
10: Wires transmit the current to the plugs
11: Plugs begin to spark
12: Fuel pump begins pumping
13: Engine standard compression and combustion should occur

It is possible for a no-start condition to be due to a failure at any one of the above points.

How far are you getting?

I first though it was the starter and go it reconstructed, but it wasn't that, then I saw some videos of it being flooded and tried deflooding it.... nothing either although a little smoke was coming out from behind... I notice that sparks are coming out of the starter when looking over it... could it be that it is not placed correctly???

I got to the point where I saw something near the front left wheel sparking, so I thought that maybe the starter had been placed incorrectly, so I stopped trying to start the car. My question is are we suppose to see sparks? and if so should those sparks be coming from that area?

It is my first time actually doing anything to a car and I've done it because I've noticed hardly any mechanic knows about rotary engines and how they work.

If your starter is sparking then you have a serious electrical problem. The starter isn't any voodoo magic just because it's on a rotary, it's still just a normal starter design. It sounds like you need to have a mechanic look at the wiring to and from the starter and replace the starter if necessary.

"Something near the front left wheel sparking"

How big were the sparks?

Could it have possibly been incorrectly installed spark plugs? Or anything to do with the plugs/wires?

You also (at least on the MT, not sure about AT) have a large wiring harness running from the starter to the battery along that area (in between the plugs and the coils they connect to).

If you feel comfortable, take a tire off and get in there with a flashlight and see if anything looks off/wrong/misplaced/damaged (i.e. bare wire, spark plug not connected to wire properly).

I would venture to say, at least on a MT (again not sure about AT), changing the starter is easier than changing the oil! Grab a flashlight and check it all out.
