Mazda serviced at 15k miles
The other day I went into Open Road Mazda on RT18 in New Jersey, and had a few recals to get taken care of, along with a CEL that was on.
Got there at about 1pm, and explained to my service manager the problems.
1) My tailight had water in it, they completely replaced the light in like 20 minutes.
2) My brakes would squeek to the point I'd want to rip my hair out.
3) I had a CEL that wouldn't go away, which turned out to be 2 spark plug wires that weren't tightened. The manager told me if the light comes back to bring the car in and he'll have the plugs replaced (all 4).
My overall experience was fantastic, in between waiting I actually test drove most of the sweet Mazda's... I drove the Mazdaspeed 6, let me tell you.. that thing is quick. Turbo sounds sweet, and it turns really well. Later I took a spin in a gorgous Mazdaspeed Miata, the most uncomfortable thing I've ever driven.. and not too fast. The thing I noticed about both of these cars is that when you walk up to them with the keys in your pocket.. the doors will unlock, and when you walk away they automatically lock (it was pretty sweet actually). Another thing that boggled my mind, is why the RX-8 oil pressure needle NEVER moves. In both of the cars I test drove, the needle would change depending on my RPMs.
Lastly, I checked with parts to get a figure on an '05 RX-8 flip key... it would cost me over $200+ to get this thing.
$100 and change for the item
$90 to get the key programmed
And some more $ to get it cut.

... it was a Mazdaspeed MX-5 than (whatever, does it really matter?), just had a few exterior/interior modifications - I wasn't reffering to any engine upgrades.
As far as service costs go.. I paid 0.00 for what I had done, they were mostly all recals though.
