midpipe sound like junk?
i recently had a midpipe put in temporarily so i can save up for a catalytic converter and now i am getting this really raspy... halfa**ed civic exhaust sounding rasp from my center console.. i cant find out what it is and neither can the mechanics... i thought it was an exhaust leak but the mechanic says no.. anyone have any suggestions?

I sold that midpipe to a local rx8 guy and it mostly sounds OK - but when he gets on it, it has a horrible sound. I think it might be hitting the heat shield or something.
Here's the turboxs headerback (catless midpipe, exhaust) with CC insert muffler:

The heat shield on the exhaust manifold could have come apart while you were swapping mid-pipes.
This happened to me and I ended up taking some stainless steel wire and wrapping it around the heat shield. Definitely helped with the rattling sound.
But if you can get under the car and with it running (and a glove on) try grabbing the heat shield to see if the sound/rattle changes.
