Did you cap the fitting (previously used for the VFAD) behind the throttle body?

Give the intake a once-over and verify all the couplers and clamps are secured.
Look/feel around each coupler and verify there are no openings between the coupler and the intake tube.

Just to rule out the easy stuff, disconnect the battery for roughly 10min to reset the PCM.
Once you reconnect the battery and start the car, you'll need to move the steering wheel all the way to the left, then all the way to the right to reset the DSC.

If that doesn't work, try cleaning the MAF.

An intake leak, dirty MAF, or if you damaged the screens in the intake couplers can cause havoc with the MAF sensor and generate rich/lean conditions.

Since this occurred after the intake install, you should double-check the installation.
An AEM intake alone isn't known to cause problems... its usually due to the installer.
