Mobil Clean 5000

Hey I did a few searches and I dont see what brands most people use. It seems like mazda makes their own oil for rotary engines?? The dealer never offered me any of that so I went and bought Mobil Clean 5000 5w20. But I dont see anyone on this board using it so I will return it.

I am not trying to start a debate on synthetic vs non. I will not use synthetic until it says in writing from mazda that its better than regular.

Just asking what is the common brand of oil to use for topping my car off every other fill up.

Thanks

Mazda never against the use of Synthetic. Too many babies were crying thats why they have to put something out to *calm them down*

Use whatever you like. Rev it once in a while and you will be fine.

I used to use Motorcraft synthetic blend as well (oil that the dealer uses), but then I figured that Ford didn't really design the Renesis, so why use Ford oil?

I guess any oil will do as mentioned above....
I just use Mazda 5w20 oil, (and it's cheaper than Motorcraft)....

same thing can be said for pretty much any other mass available oil save for maybe Royal Purple and Idemitsu rotary oil

the Motorcraft oil is merely a ConocoPhilips motor oil sold through Ford distribution chain that just happens to pass Ford's own stress test that is more stringent than the standard ILSAC GF-4 specification, ie it's a tough oil.

and my butt dyno tells me the Renesis revs a bit smoother with the Motorcraft than with Castrol GTX, so I'm sticking with it

The statement about synthetic oil.

They cant release something like that in the US cuz I think its against the law. but for everywhere else ... Hey I think in japan's Mazda Dexia(forgot the name of it) oil is recommended for Rotary and its Full Synthetic ~~~~~

Too bad tons of failed engines were using Dino oil.

but Synthetic or not it doesnt matter. I would say Just rev the engine once in a while then it would be fine. (but hey no one listen to this one)
