MT-90 + MTL for tranny?

Hi everyone,
I'm getting ready to swap my tranny and diff oils this weekend. My only concern was some people complaining about the notchiness after changing to MT-90. I know there are some users that use MTL for the tranny. Do you think there would be any benefit by getting a quart of each and mixing them together before I put them in. As long as they mix well together I don't any problem with giving it a shot. Thanks for your help.

I feel fine using MT90, I dunno what other ppl mean by *notchiness*, but I am ok with it. Oh, I came from the RP Maxgear boat.

The 90 weight IS the Mazda spec - I use the mix because I regularly drive around in minus 20* weather.

ok well I drive my car in weather no colder than 20 degrees Fahrenheit. Right now the temperature is around 70 degrees. So mixing about 3/4 Mt-90 and then 1/4 MTL would that have any benifit? I might just give it a try. A little MTL shouldn't cause any problems in high temps do you think?

Ok well I just got done changing my my fluids over to redline. When I started the car to back it off the ramps, I began to smell a very rank smell from the car. I think it is the exhaust but I'm not sure. Is this smell normal after changing transmission and differential fluids?

Yes, they stink, especially the diff oil. It will pass.
