Could wait for someone to teach you, or just pay someone... or just try it and see what happens and be ready to fix your mistakes.
I've only learned by reading these forums, another club member helping me, or doing it myself and sometimes messing it up and then having to figure out how to fix it.

No one learns anything from comments like that, and your not the only one who makes them. Yes, he screwed up...but he admits he screwed and has now come to the forum for HELP, not to be bashed.
Anyways, one of the easiest things you can do has been suggested with that turkey baster.

Dominion - two things to consider. First, if you use a turkey baster, that baster's future use will always be for coolant. Never food. Second, if you use a normal antifreeze mix, adding just water dilutes it. If you ever contemplate going to a colder climate, you'll need to drain the system a bit and re-balance it. Consider getting an antifreeze tester, which looks like a turkey baster with a float in it. You can use it to suck out the excess and also see how the mix is.

Slip-ups happen. And you never know what you know or don't know until you give it a try. "Whoops" is the world's best teacher.

If you overflow your coolant, you can jack up one side of your car a little bit. If you need to tip it even more, place one jack on top of another jack and jack up both jacks to get some serious tippage. OR you can try cutting the power line to your radiator fans and allow the car to overheat for about 30 minutes. This should cause the coolant to boil and it will overflow out the top.
My personal fav method involves displacing coolant by dropping rocks into the overflow tank.

I hope I never see you post having any problems with your car, because you'll get lit up. I would go into it more, but I'm not trying to get banned over a sorry unsympathetic piece like you. Thank you for making these forums a better place, I mean come on...
end rant.
OP: Glad to see your problem was rectified.

While your at it... put a longer hose on the overfill resoviour.
Route to the bottom of the car or else you will get a bug mess and antifreeze will eat up the engine bay when it sprays out.
