Muffler ground????
Why is there a ground wire on the muffler? It's on the driver's side rear of the muffler and attaches to the chassis.
More of an alternator noise thingy?

Number of reasons.
First, grounding the muffler actually helps prevent corrosion. I can't remember all the specifics with why, but I know it does.
Second, it helps ground the oxygen sensor, giving a better and more accurate reading.
2nd and 3rd gen RX-7's also had a ground strap to the exhaust, BTW.
