but to be honest I'm sick of looking at them!! I want them to come together and be friends once again. We start tomorrow, I imagine it'll take us the whole day to get one rotor completed lol.
Honestly though my patience and not wanting to rush things have been very beneficial for this whole process. I mean we have cleaned everything at least twice sometimes three times its worth it in the end though.

Quick super relevant question. Can anyone describe how the oil squirts work? Is it a check valve.
My issue is that when I blow on the end where the vacuum would go no air comes out except one of them. so now I'm wondering if that one is where all my caked on oil is coming from?
If I blow on the end that the oil comes out of it goes out of the oil feed areas and not the vacuum. however when I blow on the suspected faulty one air comes out of the vacuum line as well.

You are talking about the 4 MOP Injector Nozzles on top of Rotor Housings?
There are also two Squirter Jets in your Eccentric Shaft also (one for each rotor), not with Oil Lines though.
I don't have a WS Manual for the Series 1 Renesis, but have a complete one of the Series II, which are slightly different Nozzles for their 6 EMOP nozzle system.
So, I can if you wish scan the Pages on the Series II WS Manual Nozzle Details if you have no luck with anyone else.
The S2 manual shows a Cleaning/Testing procedure which I think may be similar to yours...for memory it is cleaning and blowing Air through to clear and test.

I always test them by blowing through the top nipple, air should flow freely out the bottom. Then suck on the same nipple (lol) and air should not move backwards. IF it does the internal check valve is bad and the injector should be replaced.
I usually clean the air holes and threads with brake parts cleaner, along with the OMP lines and banjo bolts etc.

dam man that's awesome I really appreciate it. ///mik3 says thanks a bunch too. we are currently fitting side seals, its incredibly easy since he wont let me do any of it becuase i suck at getting the proper clearances.

I was going to write up some pointers like a DIY type thing but that would take like 20 pages of text. The only advice I can give at this point is have at least $3000 saved up and a butt load of time.

This is more of a first time, never done it, buying lots of tools kinda thread. I would say 3k still seems high but can you put a price on wanting to learn as you go?

I'm sure he or someone else will correct me if I am wrong, but I think from reading his posts that the rx8 was his first rotary. There were at least 10 other rotary powered models produced in the US prior to that for about 35 years before the rx8.
Give credit where credit is due, yes, but come on guys, don't sackride.

theres a great story around that. I had bought the paint and we cleaned the irons and started to prep for paint then as we started masking everything off I forget what came up but it was just to much of a pain in the ****. I think I forgot to buy primer we had some but not enough.
Anyway I will most likely get 20k on this engine before I SC it then I will track it until it blows up and rebuild again using all new parts. I will paint it then hahaha.
