No clue haven't installed my turbo yet!

After calculations I've determined that the td06 20g is satisfactory for my 300 whp goal. Updates should be in turbo thread.

This is one of the best threads I've ever read on ANY forum! Just bought a 04 with a blown engine er.. low compression. Still drives but barely. I bought it with the idea of rebuilding myself. After reading some threads here I would feel like I'd be crazy to attempt that and then othert times I felt like it is extremely do able. This thread has convinced me to give it a go! Worst case scenario it doesn't work and/or blows up and I have to order a reman but for me its more about the journey, not the destination. Thanks to Shady for the inspiration. If you're around the F1 race in November sir I will be buying you a beer.

Shady never refuses a beer!

If you around the SARX crew should be there in partial force. You might get to see another engine I helped rebuild.

Actually the Aux Port got the brunt of the work. I don't think I have any pics of that though. Let me see if I can find some.

Its hard to see but allot of meat gets taken out so much that you need to cut into the APV valves.

Build is starting to take shape. Balanced assembly going in with good housings, we are opening the exhaust ports up a bit more. I purchased the RA master rebuild kit with RA super seals, they have some pretty interesting/funky water gaskets we shall see how they hold up .

New stationary bearings are going in as well, rotor bearings look to be in good condition and will be reused. 80% of all parts have been cleaned, I am swapping in a lower mileage trans tonight and will be porting tomorrow. Assembly will take place tomorrow night install will take place Wednesday night. Thursday is reserved to overnight any parts that break during install.

Friday will be reserved for all the **** that I forget.

[QUOTE=shadycrew31;4438585] I purchased the RA master rebuild kit with RA super seals, they have some pretty interesting/funky water gaskets we shall see how they hold up . QUOTE]

I'm doing a rebuild soon and I looked into the RA super seals. On the RX7 forum most people say that the RA super seals eat up housings at an accelerated rate. they say that premixing helps a little but not much. The RA super seals are supposed to be unbreakable though (they bend instead of shattering).

i wouldn't buy a seal because it is sold as "unbreakable".
Other charactersitics are far more important, and actually usable.

Yeap I always do . Luckily we have several bunk housings we have been messing with to see what the limits are.

I bought them because I wanted to try them out and see how they operate.

The 7 guys have had some good luck with them and there aren't enough 8 guys running them to get a good pool of data. The the Renesis airplane guys have not had any issues so far according to RA.

the airplane application is entirely different than a street or race car

Obviously...

But since I don't know of anyone running these seals on a boosted renesis that's all the data I have. The street and track 7's have had good luck with them so that's what I am going on now.

If everyone continues to follow the same path and continues to blow their **** up then all we are doing is defining crazy.

These are RA super seals going in a balanced rotating assembly with mild street porting. If it doesn't work then it doesn't work, we learn some new things in the process.
