Thanks Hmmm, I'm bringing my car to the dealer tomorrow to look at the oil usage, smell and vibration. I'll mention the converter. Based on my phone conversation, I think I will be coming home with the car exactly the way it is now. They were giving me excuses before they have even seen it.

Well I am having a really weird problem. Every since I went to Royal Purple 20w-50 oil, after the car is warmed up, and idling at a stop light, there will be huge puffs of smoke coming out of the tail pipe, and it fills the air with a smell of burning oil. I spoke with a mechanic who hadn't heard of this before, and said perhaps the better oil was just burning off some deposits that were previously in the engine. But its so bad that cars will actually start honking at me because they think my car is about to catch fire. Previously I was just running the standard 8 Castrol oil, even with my mods. Only other thing I did that day I changed my oil, was install an 02 sensor, but that can't be it. Any help would be appreciated!

I've had a burning plastic smell with my car too. It has 1100 miles now, so I asked the dealer to take a look at it. They told me they found a plastic bag stuck to the exhaust, so they removed it and cleaned it off. So what's the deal? Is there a TSB that says to tell the customer they found a plastic bag on the exhaust if the customer smells something strange? I really doubt they found a plastic bag on my exhaust, but I guess it's possible. The smell isn't super strong so I'll just have to see what happens in the next thousand miles.
