Need DIY to disable annoying seat belt beeps!

I have solved this issue by these steps.
1, sit in car
2, buckle seat belt
3, insert key in switch
Then I am ready to go on my merry little way with never hearing the chime go off.
For D_of_E, bro if you want to make that choice more power to you but I and all the others who wear seatbelts ask that you never sue anyone for your injuries in a crash.
Hopefully you will die quickly and not linger for awhile.
Just my thoughts after 26 years of driving and crashing.

If it's anything like other Mazda's then you have to take it to the Dealer, and they can flash something in the ECU so it doesn't ding.
I always wear my seat belt I just happend to see this when looking at TSB's for the Mazda 3.

Gee, tough room ![Wink](https://www.rx8club.com/images/smilies/wink.gif)
I always wear my seatbelt on the road, but there ARE situations in which a seatbelt isn't necessary. What if he's got a big property and just wants to drive out to pick up the mail. Or moving from one spot to another in a parking lot -- I suppose we could debate the merits, but I don't think it's unreasonable.
Seat-belts = good
Nanny-laws = bad
Nanny buzzers = insultingly, staggeringly, annoyingly bad.
Your mojo may vary.

I thought this thread died out a few weeks ago after the Holier Than Thou set had stepped down from the pulpit. I guess I underestimated the number of folks with time enough to lambast me, but not enough time to offer any constructive help.
My bad.

Two teenagers from Austin are dead, following a crash that involved five vehicles in Bastrop County.
The driver who caused the crash has been identified as 26-year-old Isais Denova from Austin. He's in serious condition at Brackenridge Hospital Thursday.
Police say Denova was driving a Dodge Durango the wrong way down FM 812 Wednesday night. He veered over the center lane and sideswiped two oncoming cars. His vehicle then flipped, caught fire, and rolled head-on into two other cars.
Eighteen-year-old Mayra Vega and 16-year-old Emmanuel Hernandez where killed inside their red Cougar.
Denova was ejected from his SUV because he was not wearing a seatbelt. He was airlifted to Brackenridge Hospital.
The Durango then burned beyond recognition.
BTW: On the news the guy was burned because AFTER he was ejected, the truck ran his *** over...Keep up the good work tho...

I always wear my seatbelt and can't imagine anyone would want to not wear it for an speeds above 20 km/h. Recently there was a defect in the seatbelt buckle of my co-worker's Mazda and the annoying warning beep came on... and this would last quite a while. I am sure my boss would be interested to know a fix until he can have his buckle ordered and replaced.

as everyone said, you should be wearing your seatbelt - it's the law.
but if you decide to be an idiot and want to ride around in a sports car and not wear your seatbelt and find that the chime bothers you, how about buying an extra buckle and put it in the receptacle. you can always take it out and use the actual one if you wise up and use your seatbelt but if not it's always in there and the system would register as it being buckled.
again, i highly advise NOT to do this but that could be a fix. just make sure you get steralized first so you don't procreate.
