Need Help---please
something just happened to me on my way home from work. the sun visor on the car broke, so i pulled it off, and the two wires that turn on the mirror lights were hanging there. both wires touched each other and turned off the radio. but the bigger problem is that the check engine light came on, and when i turned off the car, all gauges are whack. the odometer gauge doesnt't go to 0, the gas one drops to empty and so on. when i turned the key to turn on the car, all guages started acting funny, like going up down and finally coming to right positions. Can i still drive the car? can anyone exlpain what is going on, hopefully the car isn't damaged. by the way the car is an 06 AT. please help

here's a link on the gauge sweep

you probably blew a couple fuses, do you have a manual with the fuse diagram in it???
plus you might have low battery power because of the whole ordeal, your best bet might be to go to the dealer first thing monday and have them check your system and memory out.

Something like that happened to me when an aftermarket LED light that I had in the overhead
cabin area blew.
I removed the light and replaced it with an OEM bulb. I then replaced the blown fuse in the drivers
side kick panel and disconnected - reconnected the battery overnight.
When I started the car the gauges acted weird so I turned it off and restarted it,
all was well...
