Need help - rock hit a/c condensor

Just got home and noticed what seemed to be smoke coming from the front of my car. When I looked at the A/C condensor I could see the freon and oil coming out of a very small hole at the bottom edge.....damn rock almost cleared it. I'm pretty sure a rock hit it cause the fins on the condensor are mashed in around the hole. Well my question is....is the receiver dryer built onto the a/c condensor. I cannot find it in the diagram of the a/c system. There is a small cylinder on the right side of the condensor. I know from experience that if you have an open a/c system you will need to replace the receiver/dryer when replacing the condensor.

I can't help you, but that sucks! Sorry!
Do you think if you had screens on it would have protected you in this case? Will that be your next purchase?.....assumes you didn't have them of course.

If you have a nice dealer show up with a box of Doughnuts and he might fix it under warranty. If not you can do what I did.

Well I checked on an aftermarket condensor tonight but no luck.....alot of places already closed. I will try on Monday. I did manage to seal the system by removing the lines from the condensor and inserting rubber plugs then reinstalling the lines to keep the plugs in place.

Finding a instock condensor for a RX-8 will hard, mail order is the way to go. https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.php?t=112255 they are in Georgia so getting one to VA shouldn't take long.
