Well about a mile after my trans warrenty went up my 4th gear synchro went kaput and is grinding like a bitch past 5k rpm. I have since bought a synchro and have yet to find a trans shop to replace it. BUT the more i look into it and talk to pro trans guys about it it seems unlikely that only the synchro is the issue. basically i have been told that the entire 4th gear assembly should be replaced to ensure fixing the issue. well the whole gear assembly will run around 3-4 hundred bucks. I am trying to decide if its worth it to go that route, or just save up a little more and replace the whole trans. partsgroup 3 different trans for a great deal right now and i have been concidering doing that instead.....


what do you guys think i should do?

 

I suggest replacement as opposed to repairing it.
