Neutral position sensor, RPM fluctuation at idle
So I have had this problem for a while, but been traveling so much I havent been able to address it.
Only 25K miles on an '04.
So a while ago I got a CEL, cant remember the exact # but it was in reference to the neutral position sensor.
At idle in neutral the RPM will go up and down. From like 750 to 1250. Constantly without stopping. It will stop if I barely press in the clutch. Sometimes, very seldom, if I move the stick through the gears it will stop.
It seems that I have a faulty sensor in the transmission to detect it is in neutral. But I have looked through the schematics and can not quite seem to find what I need to replace or inspect.

Not positive but I think it located on the tranny, drivers side. Shouldnt be too hard to replace. disconnect the connector, take out sensor; usually get take out a 1 or 2 screws. install procedure is reversed.

Thanks, I found that info when searching the engine code.
Funny thing is it doesnt throw a code now, but still presents the behavior.
I will check my warranted status.
