AL New Engine change @ 60k....finally!

After complaining for the past 30-35,000 miles about power loss issues when the engine gets hot, FINALLY someone listened! I don't know how many service centers I went through, complained about the same thing and all they did was nickel and dime me to death with these stupid little things, sensors, shutter valves, carbon cleaning, etc.

Also, that "noise" from underneath that everyone and their brother has been saying for the past 5 years is "normal"....come to find out, really isn't normal. I knew it wasn't, but who am i, I'm only the dude that's been driving it all these years, what do I know?

Well, good for me, there is hope and I think I see light at the end of the tunnel from all these issues, of severe power loss, stalling in the middle of traffic, not wanting to start once stalled out, the incessant rattling of "something" associated with the power loss at high rpm's.

All on Mazda's dime this time! Apparently, Mazda is just going ahead with changing the engines on '04's as they roll in with these issues. It'll be 'almost' like a new car again....or so I hope!

Thats good. It took me a while to get a new engine the first time. But then i got smart and brought the car to the dealership when i was having the problems and had the service manager test drive it with me in it so he could see what i was talking about. It was in the dealer 2 other times before that and they said it was good. Test drive with the manger on friday. That monday they called saying i am getting a new engine.

I seriously wonder how much money Mazda has spent on new engines under warranty for Rx-8 owners around the world...

thats their problem.

They didnt get it right the first time(firmware, oil nozzle design, etc), so now they're paying the price.
