New Engine Replacement Question

OK my car is in the shop and im waiting for them to get the engine but they havn't received it yet. But to the point my dealer is going to charge me around $120 to get take my after market fly wheel off my old engine and put on in the new one. Does a new RX-8 engine already come with a oem flywheel.

I dont think the short block comes with a flywheel.

I think they're trying trying to pull a quick buck off from you.

even if you dont pay, they still have to put the fw & clutch on. so they just want more money.

thats what im thinking about. what about a new complete engine because he said if it wasn't under warranty it would be like $7800 for a new engine. let me try searching to see if a new engine comes with a flywheel

This is a joke right? Seriously. You ARE joking? Sorry sarcasm doesn't translate well over the internet, so you MIGHT be serious.

Who's doing your engine swap sauceyI986 ? Should have let me know you needed an engine I would have hooked you up with a couple of MUCH more honest dealers here in Phoenix.

Remans from Mazda come with flywheels. I'm guessing that they're charging you 1 hour labor to switch it. Be careful because the aftermarket component can cause you some warranty issues especially since the manual car didn't come with a separate rear counterweight like the replacement flywheel will require.

If you are getting a warranty provided re-built motor, they should not charge you a penney. They did mine, furnished car, got it back, hesitated at low RPM's, took it back, another car furnished free, got it back $0.00, runs geat after 9000 miles. Luv it, Luv Mazda. They did put a new clutch in which I agreed to and needed for -$600.00. Only problem since was a leaking battery that damaged my A/C drier. $450.00 plus new battery. The A/C switch was faulty had that fixed. Friggin sun visor broke, found one locally "cheap".
