New/remanufactured engine idling higher than original
I've noticed ever since I got my new/reman engine that it idles closer to 1,000 RPM most of the time when I'm in neutral...and doesn't go down to that "normal" 850ish range I'm used to seeing on the old engine unil I've come to a complete stop. When going into neutral and slowing down it won't even drop below 1,000 until my speedometer has hit 0, and in general it moves down really slowly. The car feels a lot smoother like this, plus you hear the rotary noise a lot more too, but I'm pretty sure this can't be normal can it? Also I'm excited too see what the MPG is going to come out to with the higher idle

It won't just go straight to 800~ ish rpm, it goes down slowly.
it will not go down anything lower than 1K rpm if your car is still moving, for example, you are driving but then u see a light and you shift it to neutral and let the car roll. it will not go down until the car is completely stop for at least 10-20 seconds.

Totally normal. The factory tach is about 500RPM high at redline so at idle it's off as well. On my Cobb and good box I register about 900 or so at idle. Just plug in a Cobb, Good Box, Hymee, Scangauge, etc. You will see.

I guess my old engine really was just running like ****...and I must have gotten used to the rapid RPM drops when going into neutral. Gas mileage on the new engine is a little better too. Hopefully this one will me at least two years or so.
