New to rotary
Okay, if I'm going to be flamed for this, fine. But please answer the question anyway.
Anyways, I'm new to rotary engines and after some research I keep reading that the Apex seal (or is it gasket? sorry i keep forgeting) is very weak on a stock rotary and needs replacing? Is this true? and if so, is there anything else that I have to watch for with the rotary engine?
like I said, sorry if this has been asked millions of times before, but I didn't see any sticky on it. So if you want to flame be my guest, just answer the question aswel plz

Name that part....
It is a sad truth that people are very reluctant to admit what they don't know, so they spout whatever tiny spec of information they have - if all they know about the rotary is that one part of it is called an "apex seal", they will tell you they will wear out/fall off/explode. This is especially prevalent in the car sales community - they really need to be seen as knowledgable or expert on every model they try to move, so they grab one or two "factoids" about each car.
Without the complexity and stress of turbo or supercharging, the basic 13B in the '8 is basically bulletproof. Don't goose it until it's warmed up, keep the oil above minimum, and change it on time, you can drive it for years with no "apex seal/gasket" issues.

Where was this research done, on LS or Vtech forums?
There is nothing you need to worry about or watch for with a rotary outside of what the owner's manual tells you. It's a machine and like any other it has to be cared for properly. Take the plunge, you won't regret it.
