NEW RX8 Engines from Pineapple Racing

Due to recent discussions I decided to start a thread about Pineapple's new engines.
Over the last few years I believe the general opinion has been there were no more 'new' engines available.

Instead of being buried in the Rebuilders thread I thought if someone searched for a new engine instead of a rebuild this could be helpful.

Post #140 and #141 in the Rebuilders thread has Rob from Pineapple confirming he does in fact have new engines for sale, along with pics of said new engines.

Member Petscar first brought attention to it, but no one seemed to pay much attention.
There's some good info in here.

This is the most recent thread from member Fiftyfifty that brought to light that someone was doubting there were new engines available.

Coming from a longtime member of the FD RX-7 Community---- Rob Golden at Pineapple is the real deal. A true OG of the rotary community, knows his stuff and has always been great to deal with. One of a handful of rotary shops in the country that I'd trust with my rotary cars if I didn't do all my own work

I have been informed by Rob that he has no idea when he will receive new engines after assuring me a few weeks ago that he should have no problem getting them when I was ready to buy one.

Idk what to think about it atm.

Mazda Japan still makes brand new MSP and REW engines.

Last I checked (around 2 weeks ago) they have 1 REW and 4 MSP still in stock.

dunno about now.

I can actually help u get 1 if you really need it.

but it's going to take at least a month to get to you, and you will pay some hefty shipping (it will be delivered directly from Mazda Japan directly to you)

Thanks.
I'm going to email Rob Monday and try to get more specifics.
I can wait.

BC,

Maybe have Rob check the High Power AT engines. It shows 1 in stock in CA.

You would just have to bolt up a non-stock flywheel I believe.

And add a pilot bearing. Hopefully that's it.

Yeah, I'm going to wait a while.
I'm in no hurry, just a little aggravated I didn't pull the trigger on buying one sooner.
I'm going to wait a while and likely give Pineapple a chance to come through since I kinda bugged him a good bit about it.

the issue with getting one second hand is that even if still new & unused in the original container, if a warranty situation should arise there won’t be a warranty.

I didn't think of that.
I'll discuss that with Rob B when we talk.

IIrc, I think he said he got one of the last new ones from Pineapple, so maybe there's a slight chance Rob R might consider it.

New member MrILO sent me this fantastic article on Mazda's continued building of new rotary engines.
This is encouraging and what I needed to hear.
It has renewed my patience to wait for a new engine if no other options present themselves in the meantime.

I have purchased the new Pineapple Racing engine from Rob Babicki, and Rob from Pineapple assured me he will honor the 3 year warranty.
Good guys, these Robs.
