No BEEP at redline

No BEEP at redline
Hi...I am not getting the beep or red light when I hit the redline! Should I be concerned, happy or what? I Reved it up to about 9500rpm just to see if it would come on and nothing. Lose a lot of power around there, fuel cut off I guess.
Would it just be a fuse or something like that?
Any comments/suggestions would be appreciated!
Thx!
I also posted this in the Canadian Forum, but was hoping some of my comrades from the south could help a northern 8 brother out!

I know that there is a diagnostic output check for the instrument cluster and one of them is for the buzzer.
To test the instrument cluster buzzer:
1) Put the key in the ignition
2) Push and hold the odometer button
3) Turn the key to the 'on' position (do not start the car)
4) Continue to hold the odometer button until 'test' appears in the lower right corner
5) Once 'test' appears, you can release the button.
6) Now push (not hold) the odometer button to scroll through various numbered options.
7) Stop when you reach output #14
8) After a full second you should hear the buzzer
9) To exit from the output diagnostic, simply turn the key to the 'off' position and back on.

and are there any 8's that have a redline red dot (light) come on?

I'm feeling generous today!
Another cool diagnostic I read about (all of these are in the shop manuals) is to test each individual speaker (just like the test tone on your surround sound system).
To perform this:
1) With the audio power on, press the 'POWER' button and simultaneously press the 'AUTO-M' button for roughly 1sec.
2) It will generate a test tone in the following order:
a) Front passenger-side door speaker and tweeter.
b) Front driver-side door speaker and tweeter.
c) Driver-side rear speaker.
d) passenger-side rear speaker.

No real point to those. If you need someone to get your attention everytime you need to shift you probably need more practice with a standard. Just shift when the needle gets to the red.

If it doesn't work.... then we'll go from there (that's my way of creating more time to think)
I've never had the cluster apart, but I would assume that the speaker is surface mounted somewhere on/near the cluster.
But whats the chance of that going out?

fair enough!! Again it's not a huge deal, just like it for the track. Been driving standard for 12 years now and my other car didn't have one. Don't really think it's worth ripping the dash apart for a stupid little BBBuuuuZZZ noise Will let you know what I find. Thx again!
