NH no power before 3500rpms

I have a 04 rx8 with 38000k. I just got it back on the road after being garaged for about a year and a half. I got the plugs replaced and it doesn't seem to want to really go like it used to. In first gear before 3500rpms it has no sack and then like magic u can feel it kick back in. Any suggestions to what might be causing this and how I can fix it?

Have you replaced the coils yet? The coils on the '04 are notorious for going bad around 25,000 miles (or 40,000 km). Mazda came out with a more reliable replacement coil which was installed on the later years models. You can find the coils for around $30us each and it only takes about 20 minutes to replace all four of them. I got mine from www.onlinemazdaparts.com but there are other places if you do a little searching on this site. Good luck to you.

two things...definately replace the coils then check your cat. My car did the same thing. No power. Be careful, do not thrash it! You have a coil pack that is burnt out. Of will send raw 93 out your exhaust into your cat. Your cat will ignite. You will not notice it until your driving down the road and smell burning carpet because the cat will burn through the insulation seperating the cat and your backseat floorboards. Your car will catch on fire just like mine did. Keep in mind, this is a worst case scenario. I almost lost my entire car because I thrashed it hard. Good luck.

Whoa ! your car has 38,000,000 miles !?!?

Anyway, change coils. see what happens.

Also, you said your car has been sitting for there for 1yr and 1/2, you might need to get the MSP16 done.

Did you have stabilizer in the fuel? If not, you may want to replace the fuel and possibly the fuel filters.
