OK... I have read so much i Think I have Hurt myself... LOL ![Smilie](https://www.rx8club.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)
2004 RX8 Manual. 82k.
On Highway runs at good speed when going uphill I lose power..I press the pedal and nothing...Then when at the crest of hill it starts to pick up speed...Sometimes even on flat road same thing...Then I get off highway and come to light and BAM the car stalls and won't start I have to wait like 15 mins and then it will start. (if i catch it and feather the pedal it evens outs and will idle)
Sometimes it sputters while trying to push the pedal... going up hill on highway runs speed is anywhere from 60 -90 mph
I have noticed the warmer its getting out the worse it gets. Now the 8 does it in 3rd gear around town it feels sluggish like its restricted...If you understand what I mean.
I had 2 CEL it was Rear bank O2 sensor replaced and it was engine misfire.. I cleared codes at a Advance Auto about a week after the O2 sensor was replaced...(O2 was replaced by Mazda Dealer it was in there for something else and they took care of it because it was up on list already.)
I have replaced the Coil and Plugs about 5k ago I have cleaned the Fuel Sock in Pump. Replaced Air Filter.
PLEASE HELP ME.......
Thanks in Advance

What about your plug wires? Have you ever replaced them? The wires fail like spark plugs and coils (they have a longer life than spark plugs and coils but they go bad as well at some point). Further, you might want to check if the wires are tight.
When you say you don't drive it hard, what exactly do you mean? You need to redline the engine frequently (some suggest once a day) to burn the carbon.

I had the same problem. It's the fuel pump. It's getting hot. To confirm this, when your having the problem, put fresh gas in the tank to cool the pump off. If the problem goes away, it's the pump.
Do the test before you start throwing parts at the car and waisting your money.
To repair you have two options. Get a OEM pump assembly to replace yours and either you or the dealer replaces it (special removal tool required). The other is, if your handy, is to get a Black Halo Racing pump that goes into your present pump assembly (again special removal tool required). There is a DIY, by MazdaManiac, on how to perform the swap. This is the route I took.

I'd also say fuel pump. Sounds very similar to when my pump went in my old RX-7 and now I'm seeing some of these same things as noted below.
On cold mornings I have a very rough start, rough as in no fuel for the first 5-8seconds. I've done a couple preliminaries to check this from watching the OBD2 read outs to doing de-flood and noticing no change between the sound/speed of the cranking with the pedal fully depressed or otherwise. Then the car starts up sputtering for a moment before idling smooth at 800 to 820RPMs. Then I've noticed that when it gets above 70*F in the mid-day sun now she will begin to not be able to keep up with the airflow (watched MAF readings and compared to lambda readings) so I get fuel starve when I reach a certain flow amount.
That being said, I was wicked paranoid at first about having a blown motor till I started reading all the fuel pump threads, esp since I'm up around 150k on the original engine.
Anyway, for those who get to this line, thanks for reading my medium winded post and I'll stop here since I'm not about to thread jack.

Thanks to ALL... I am thinking Drive it hard and look at CAT (probably best to do this at night to see it Glow easier)
I do Redline Car about once a day.... When cold The 8 Drives great good pedal response and quick like it should be. as it heats up and the weather is hot out UGHHHHHH a pig she is LOL ...
So I will look at Cat Tonight.. If it is the CAT can I just remove the insides? I live in a non emission state so no tests.
Probably need to change Wires any way..When I changed Coils and plugs they looked NEW I purchased the car with 43k on it.
Thanks again
I can do a fuel pump swap no problem I have already been in there once to clean the fuel sock NO SPECIAL TOOL REQUIRED... Small Hammer and a Big Screwdriver and Patience...LOL
