Normal Downshift Noise????
Just gto my RX-8 and I have not even revved it past 6 k yet because I really wanna make sure I don't have engine problems like I did in the S2K. I have noticed that when I am coming up to a turn going like 45 and go to shift down to 2nd to make the turn the engine kinda whines and makes a clunky sound. Is this normal on these cars? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

the whine is a sound the rotary engine makes. sounds kinda like a turbo whine. it's one of the unique things about the rotary that makes it fun to drive.
the clunk, i have no idea, unless it is the tranny when you shift.

its a combination of the synchros and the butterfly valves in the intake manifold opening as the revs rise. the butterfly valevs sometimes sound like a police siren on mine!
