the 8 is smoked, it turns on but when i hit the gas it doesn't move it just revs plus there was a lot of smoke and sparks coming out of the rear and bottom before it happened. had it towed to the dealer but their closed right now hopefully its not bad i'll find out later when they are open.

yea finally got the call back according to them i raced the car and beat on it because the clutch blew apart so bad and its not covered under warranty at least the labor isn't he said he said mazda out of goodwill since the car has low mileage will pay for the parts but not the labor. definately sucks on my part since the labor is over $500.

B.s.!! It Is Under Warrenty The Warrenty Covers Parts And Labor. Second This Is Not The First Clutch That Has Blown Up. There Are Some Bad Clutches Out There. Third There Were Many Cars That Had The Pressure Plate Bolts Come Loose Because They Were Not Torqued Correctly At The Factory. When They Loosen Up The Clutch Goes. Do Not Let Them Snow You. Go To The Head Of The Service Dept. Then Go To The Owner. If That Doesn't Work Go Straight To Mnao. 1800-222-5500

They were definitely some bad clutches, mine included. The dealership tried pulling same crap on me. Once they made a call to the district rep they were told to replace the clutch under warranty. Be polite but stand your ground and ask them to contact the district rep to get approval for the warranty claim.

Yes.. dont get screwed here.. Your clutch should never fail like that.. If your hard on it you will wear it out faster than normal ! but dont let them tell say that you made if fly apart and cause sparks and such !!! thats just them trying to get some money out of you.!

You need to call a Lawyer and get him to write up a letter addressed to Mazda and the Owner of your Dealership. The fact that they said this to you proves they are a shady dealership..

Stand your ground..

Print out this Thread and make your service manager read it infront of you. that should at least make him call Mazda !

Totally don't let them do this to you. Contact MNAO and/or lawyer up if they keep insisting.

Oh, and don't forget to list them in the "Bad Mazda dealerships" thread if they don't make good: here. You can be sure Mazda is listening to that thread.

i honestly think he fed me that crap because i think i'm the youngest 8 owner there the rest of the owners are a lot older plus the fact that we showed up in my cousins hooked up nissan 300zx he gave us a look like we where street racers. because if i was one of those older guys and came in with my car like that they probably wouldn't have said i beat on it and raced it.

Nooo you are getting ripped off... That is a warenty repair nomatter what.. A clutch does not just explode.... Ever!!!!! either your not telling us somthing or there not see a blown up clutch !!!! theres no way that cannot be a Warrenty repair...

and your warrenty is longer that 12 months... that is a drive train item.. and except fo rthe normal wear on your clutch everything else has the same warrenty as your other Drivetrain stuff.... lawyer.. and call MAzda in Irvine Ca.. tell them that you demand to talk to a supervisor.. ..........................

well according to him it didn't explode it just has pieces of the clutch all over it but before he said it was in pieces anyway i think they are hurting and just want to make some oney off me. his words exactly before when he talked to me where you must have drove it hard because the clutch shows it for one that part was all in pieces when i got to it.
