Not your typical brake squeak
I've developed a strange brake squeak. It's not a typical pad/rotor squeal. This sounds more like a squeaky bed spring on a honeymoon night. When I'm slowing down and on the brakes, it kind of sounds like..."cricky, cricky, cricky...cricky.....cricky.......cr..icky......... ..crrrr...iiii...kkk...yyyy......stop." If that makes sense. Definitely not a squeal and really sounds like an old spring. At first I thought something in the suspension, but there's not bouncing or anything perceptible that would cause the suspension to even move. Also, the noise stops immediately when I take my foot of the brake. All my searches have just turned up brake squeal issues and nothing quite like this. Any ideas?

You may have to have your rotors turned. How many miles do you have on those brake pads and rotors? The uneven braking surface on the rotors is probably causing the "crick, cricky" sound as it pulsates against your brake pads and wear indicator.
All you may need is a new set of brake bads and to have your rotors turned to get them true again.

You ever figure out what this was Pendleton? I think I am having a similar problem. It sounds like it is come from my driver's side rear brake, but I'm not positive.
