Talking Odd but questions with a point (can't say what yet though)

Hi everyone

Here's four questions that may appear odd but I'm looking at a slightly unusual project.

Question 1

What are the physical dimensons of the RX8 engine?

Question 2

Is it possible to combine to twin rotor rx8 engines to create a four rotor engine (and what would the probable dimensions, power output etc be...ok thats more than one question but gie me a break)

Question 3

Where can I buy RX8 engines?

Question 4

If its possible to do the four rotor who could do it for me?

If nobody has guessed its for an engine swap but I can't say what for just yet!!!!

I look forward to any (positive) advice from the forum.

You can get the Rx8 rotary engine from the Mazda Wholesale Component Supply division, based in Maine (near Portland, I think?). Look up their number.

I actually bought two RX8 Renesis engines earlier this year, but I sent them back because they weren't torquey enough. I'm now waiting for my Nissan350Z engines to arrive.

Hmmm.

That wouldn't be so hard to believe except for the fact that NO ONE can buy Renesis's yet. The production run is being used up by the RX-8 and the new Star Mazda Series cars. If you're going to lie buddy, at least try to do it creatively.

Not to mention the fact that the torque figures for the Renesis are no secret, so why would one even consider one over a V6 if torque were such a concern? Geez...

I agree!

Plus, I just called Mazda Wholesale Component Supply after reading this thread, and they told me that Renesis engines won't be available for sale until next week. But only the low-powered version will be for sale in the first 6 months.

Torque

Torque shouldn't be an issue as the engine will be going into something very light.

doing a 4 rotor engine is actually easier than it sounds, I have an Option2 mag from may this year where they show how to do it. its just too bad i cant' read japanese, but i can try to scan it for you :D

as for the demensions, power, and torque... no clue its never been dyno'd as far as i know.

if you want a 4 rotor built, start looking around where the real rotor-heads reside: Down Unda... Aussie and Kiwi builders (there's one in NZ i'm thinking of in particular... can't remember the name) make 4 rotor motors all the time...

btw, what kind of supercar would you be building with beast such as this??

I'm quessing a sandrail, those guys are always down for making something crazy.

And for the dumba$$ that sent back the renesis's, it would have been more believable if you replaced them with something that has real power:p

Some one else you may try is jim downing in atlanta, ga. I believe he is very familiar with the 4 rotor. plus, it's a little closer than Austrailia.

In theory, yes. The rotary can be stacked like a sandwich. Want more power? Add motor rotors and housings.

In reality, it's not that easy. You would need a longer beefier eccentric shaft, ECU to run the engine, and other stuff I'm sure. Mostly custom fabrication.

Evil7 cars are bad *** though.
