OEM HID Module / Ballast replacement
Hi,
I have a UK spec 231 model with Xenons.
I need to replace the HID module / ballast with another OEM one.
Am I being stupid because I cannot seem to remove the old module as the bulb connector is too big to get past the internals of the headlamp!!
Please help if you can.
Cheers
Nick

slightly long story !
Initially got a headlamp and didnt realise it was a 190 model (that does not have Xenons) so it will not be possible to retrofit to those headlamps as I found !
I then got a 230 headlamp w/o a ballast but you cant fir the ballast to the bottom and then feed the chrome connector that goes onto the back of the bulb through the headlamp. They must be fitted before the front clear lens is glued on.
You could cut the wires feed them through and then join them but technically if this will cause any issues I don't know. They are just a pair of standard wires after all. But there are plenty of warnings about the voltage !!!
As it happens I then offered up the new 230 headlamp and noticed that one of the main brackets was also missing !!
So another disaster !
In the end I bought a complete headlamp because it was stopping me getting the car back on the road.
I still have a 190 headlmap, a 230 headlmap with a missing bracket and a ballast unit in the garage !
Hope that helps
Cheers
