Oil advice
Just got my 8 last week, 2 stops at the gas station.. how often do I need to change my oil, and how often do I check its level. Which oil should I be using, any other advice? I'd like to know everything I need to do - even during oil changes.

I usually change my oil every 2500-3000 miles and check my oil level every 2nd gas fill up. As for oil, I use castrol 5w20.
As for doing an oil change there is a DIY on it here: https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-do-yourself-forum-73/diy-rx-8-oil-change-dummies-12455/ but its been a long time so the pictures are gone.
What you gotta do is jack up the car, either side (but jacking the driver's side lets more oil drain out).
1. Then screw off the drain plug with 19mm socket (pulling toward the front of the car), which you should clearly spot when under the car. The drain plug is facing toward the passenger side. Let it drain into a pan and make sure you do not lose the screw or washer.
2. Screw it back in when it's done and then change the oil filter (dab some oil onto the filter) and add the oil. For some, it might be hard to get the oil filter off because of the way it is in there.
3. Anyways, fill 3.7 quarts and start up the car.
4. Shut it off (only when its warmed up) and check for any oil leaks.
There you go. Really condensed version of the one in the link. Good luck!
