Oil bottle seal poured in with oil, help!
First, I take full responsibility for being stupid.
The bottle seal came off the bottle and got poured into the engine with the oil. Did it go straight to the sump? I'm hoping that I can drain the oil, remove the pan, and find it there... sound right?

As to the op i agree on checking the oil fill if you did not pour a lot more through. Life would be easy to find in there. If not defiently pull the pan and find it. I could see it clogging or catching somewhere bad and causing big issues.
Either way chalk this up as a lesson learned and move on.
If you do pull the pan make sure you clean the mounting points good and use permatex grey if your in a hurry or super black if you can do without for a day to set.
Good luck

I should probably mention that the Idemitsu bottles can have a similar issue. There is a seal bonded to the bottle cap, and occasionally it will come off. I've almost poured the seal in my gas tank a couple of times, but fortunately noticed it in time. Check the cap seal each time you open the bottle (or just peel it off completely right away).

Hey guys, thanks for all of your replys and constructive?.. criticism. LOL.
Ok, so I solved the problem the day after my mistake, here's how it went down...
Just so you know, I never started the engine until the problem was solved.
So what I did first, is I pulled the oil pan, thinking that the seal had made it's way there. However, after pulling the pan and inspecting it, I did not find the seal anywhere in it. So then, because I was actually considering driving the car the next day, I reinstalled the pan to the motor. Then I talked to my buddy, pro formula mazda race car mechanic, and learned about the oil pickup lines and how they could become potentially blocked... not good. The next morning, a day after the mistake happened, I pulled the upper intake manifold and seperated the oil filler neck at the motor block seam... THERE IT WAS!!! The seal was barely hanging on to a very slight ledge at the seam of the filler neck and motor. So what did I do next??.. I got some handy safety wire, bent it about some, and began to maneuver it ever-so-gently underneath the seal to flick it outta there. Just as the seal was about to be lifted up and outta there, the little bastard slipped back and fell down the oil chute and INTO THE PAN!! Pulled the pan AGAIN, got the seal out and set that bastard on fire!! Put everything back together and she was good to go.
A few lessons learned here, you know what they be.
Hope y'all enjoyed the vision, and thanks again for the help.
Cheers!

Doesn't the oil pick up tube have a mesh cover? Much like this, http://www.atkinsrotary.com/images/s...871-14-160.jpg

Yes, not sure but that piece could melt completely though and possible clog the screen. Either way it's not a good idea to leave it in there.
