oil catch can and sohn adapter canister
I'm planning on making both these mods, and trying to find a slick packaging technique to it. I have two cylindrical 1L canisters (ebay special) to use, and I would like them to be mounted together, or at least close. Has anyone done both of these mods like this, with pictures to show examples of?
I would like to still be able to put the plastic engine cover on, and obviously still need to see the oil level of both cans.

I'm using a flipped ebay special catch can for the Sohn reservoir, like this:
In that location, it ends up just outside the engine cover, convenient and stock looking at first glance.
there's a DIY guide here:

BUT. I had a few problems holding oil in those ebay specials. 1: they're full of burrs so use a filter, 2: some 2-stroke oils are really aggressive and will find ways to leak around the level gauge tube and every connection in the tube. PLENTY of silicone later I think it's finally sealed. For now.
I imagine you could fit a catch can there as well. I wonder if you could combine them and make the reservoir itself the catch can. That way your catchcan goo will eventually just burn up in the engine.

Yes, I've read your DIY, it's definitely pointing me in the right direction. Thanks for the tip on the silicone/sealing. I purchased the same style as the one you have there.
Interesting thought with the overflow into the catch can...Just a couple of extra fittings and holes.
Any thoughts on whether or not the 2 stroke oil would mix ok with the engine oil? I don't know enough about the chemistry of the oils to make an informed decision

Hey intense,
don't mix 2 stroke oil with your engine oil ... many 2 strokes are pre-diluted to mix with fuel better ... it can lead you into main bearing failure.
