oil change

Hi i have a 05' with about 36500 miles on it, I change my oil every 3k miles n ive noticed that it becomes "sluggish" around the time i need to change the oil, EX: i change the oil n 2000 miles after the change, i notice a lil sluggishness, pardon the language, n then 500 miles b4 the next change like now, its sluggish. So i change the oil n then it regains that "oomph." Now im sure its the oil change that helps but i was curious if its a common thing among rx8 owners or is this sluggishness just my mind playin tricks on me?

I think it's your mind playing tricks.

Oil changes are not like a good wash and wax, which really does improve performance.

i dont know, maybe it is just me, but it seems like it doesnt "pull" in the high rpms like it usually does n i redline it a couple times everytime i drive it. I have the sp2 n the aem cai, n im wondering if the intake has anything to do with it altho ive had it for a year now n it hasnt really caused problems.

I notice that my car feels noticeably smoother and peppy after an oil change. It only lasts a day or two, OR I get used to the feeling and don't notice it as much shortly afterwards.

Dumping 6-8 oz of synthetic 2 stroke oil into your gas tank before filling up can also make the engine buttery smooth. I didn't notice much of a change when adding just 4 oz as I do with 8.

I agree. Mine seems to have a little more pep after a recent oil change.

so i let my bro drive it to walmart who drives the 8 every once in a while n i asked him to keep an eye open for anything he noticed, he drove it n said besides the rough idle from the AEM, it runs fine, so i guess it was just my mind playin tricks on me.

I hope you're not having the problem that Im having

SSV Solenoid

What I did was, dump some Fuel or complete system cleaner into my tank, run the **** out of it for a few tanks. Then no more choke

I think your imagining it...I've done numerous oil changed by my self and infact, I felt a gain after each one. You must break in your new oil by driving hard in high RPMs.

Good luck
