oil pan instant gasket stuff
im working on an e30 with my friend. he had a little accident so we had to replace a lot of things. one of them was the oil pain, if you've ever worked on e30s, you know. he cracked the oil pan when it hit steering rack. we put a replacement in there, but now the car is leaking oil. he said maybe we didn't torque it down enough. but i think that's impossible. those TINY 10mm bolts cant be rated for more than 30ft/lbs and they were very easy to take off. i think the CORK BOARD of a gasket is not sealing properly. and im serious when i say its a cork board.... ![Crazy](https://www.rx8club.com/images/smilies/crazy.gif)
so, anybody know any make your own gasket sealer goop things that actually work really well?
tia.

There's nothing inherently bad with using a cork gasket, they've been used for years and I prefer them over some of the [literally] paper thin gaskets used on other cars. But they can all be improved with sealant.
