Me too me too ! I have a 2 ton jack as well. Its easy to do the back but its almost impossible to slide the thing to do front jack point. Can someone please have a photo of your Jack so I can go out and buy one ?

^ I know what you mean. I made this "insert" for my floor jack from scrap oak and dowels to keep that from happening. Works great. For my jack stands I'm lucky since I can just center them on the rails.

I'm not try to call you out, but do you really trust those pieces of wood to hold the car steady if you are trying to break loose a bolt that is stuck???? How many times have you used those pieces of wood?

Well I only use Stands on the rear of the car, the front is on ramps. When tires are rotated, only jack one side at a time, takes a short time longer but no worries.
I just don't trust a jack stand with the full weight of the car. I have ramps with 6x6 blocks under the ramps and the jack still very lightly touching the rear axle.

Hmm that pic of the rails has me concerned.. Gonna be careful when I pick a jack / stands...
BTW, is there a safe way to get a car on stands on an incline? I can see it being fine in "steady state" (once it's up) as long as the bases of the stands are level, and the car is level, but how to get it there safely beats me... Any tips? I need to do a brake job soon and was hoping I could do it in my driveway...

^I just did my brakes and I would never put a car on jacks if my car is on a incline (driveway). Not after seeing F.O.D. a long time ago when that car fell on that dudes leg OMG!
And about that wood thing. I always use a jack and a jack stand(s). You never know.
When I drop my car, I'll need to get some ramps and use 2X4's to get my car up on them.

Low profile track type myself. But always use stands before sliding under!
